What Our
Clients Are Saying

“I am no Annika Sorenstam or teenage Michelle Wie, not even an aging Nancy Lopez. But I am a golfer with a very bad back for 15 years. My story is simple, finding relief was not. 15 years and 5 different therapists. Now I am finally getting the help I need at PTC. The therapist determined what the problem was and treated the problem, not the symptoms. They offer hands-on treatment techniques and stretching, strengthening and sport specific training so I can resume my passion. Three weeks ago I could not golf. Now I have been hitting golf balls for a week and I will play a tournament next week. PTC is the place to go for therapy!” —F.D.

What We Do

THE MCKENZIE METHOD
(Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy – MDT)

The McKenzie Method is a philosophy of active patient involvement and education that is trusted and used by practitioners and patients all over the world to control pain for the back, neck and extremities.

Three steps to success:
1.   Assessment:   The “initial component” is a safe and reliable means to
accurately reach a diagnosis and only then make the
appropriate treatment plan. The assessment is a unique
process beginning with a thorough history and testing
                              of movements.

2.   Treatment:    When appropriate, the McKenzie treatment uses the
patient’s own movements and forces to abolish pain
and restore function. The treatment always matches
the assessment finding. (In cases when a patient does
not respond mechanically, alternative means of treat-
ment and/or further medical evaluation is warranted.)

3.   Preventative: Patients who do respond favorably to MDT can
successfully treat themselves. This will reduce the
number of visits to the clinic and provide the patient
with the necessary knowledge to quickly manage
                              themselves if symptoms do occur.

The staff at PTC are trained in the McKenzie Assessment Treatment. The McKenzie Institute USA provides only US sanctioned training in the McKenzie Method.
